There's something magical about the first signs of spring. Just when it seems that winter will never end, suddenly the air feels warm. Birds are hopping on the sill and flowers are starting to bloom again.
To celebrate the season, I've made a new mini junk journal kit with one of my favorite flowers: cherry blossoms! This little book is designed to be a quick, and happy project. It doesn't take a lot of time or fancy binding skills. It’s more about the pretty paper, the pink flowers, and the stories you tuck inside.

What Do You Do With a Mini Junk Journal?
One question I hear a lot is: It’s beautiful, but what do I actually do with a junk journal? A junk journal is whatever you need it to be. But if you’re looking for inspiration, here's a few ways you can use this mini version:
A Spring Bucket List: Write down three things you want to experience now that the snow is gone.
A Pocket Memory Keeper: Use it to store ticket stubs, pressed flowers, or tiny polaroids from a spring walk.
Creative Meditation: Sometimes, the act of making is enough. Use the process of sewing and gluing as a way to unplug and reset.
A Daily Gratitude Log: Because it's small, it’s not intimidating to write just one sentence a day.

My Supply List
The only thing you absolutely need is the printed kit, a pair of scissors, and some glue! If you've already got thread, tools, or scraps around the house, use those first.
If you'd like to make the exact journal I made, here are the supplies I used:
White cardstock Neenah 65lb.
White paper HP Premium 28.
Photo paper Koala Glossy.
Rubber stamps: typewriter alphabet.
Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue.
Light and dark gray cardstock.
Printing Directions
Print the cover page on white cardstock. Turn the sheet over and print one of the patterns on the back.
Print the pages on plain white paper. Turn the pages over and print the patterns on the back.
Print the photo sheet on glossy photo paper. If you don't have photo paper, you can print them on cardstock - they'll still be pretty cute!
Assembly Instructions
Score and fold the cover and the pages.
Arrange your pages in the order that you want your book.
Line up the pages inside the cover, and open to the center of the pages.
Measure 3/4 of an inch from the top and from the bottom and mark with a small dot.
Using your awl, pierce through the pages and the spine.
Next, make one stitch out from the center of the pages and back inside.
Pull the thread taut and tie a knot. Trim off the extra thread and your book is finished!
Use the pockets, pictures and fussy cuts to decorate your pages.
Enjoy Creating
Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to fill these little pages. This journal is a tiny gift to yourself. Use it as a quiet space to celebrate the return of the sun. Don't worry about making it perfect. Just enjoy the rhythm of crafting. Have fun sewing, cutting, and gluing the pieces together.
